A Brothers' Macabre

A Brothers' Macabre

And when they come, I’ll hide somewheres?

Uh, yeah. Don’t think it’ll look too good if you’re just sitting here, talking to me.

Well, perhaps, if you got that there gun on me. Just say you’re holding me off, right?

If I have a gun on you, what’s stopping me from blowing your teeth out the back of your head right now? Or at least throwing you out that door?

Good point…

Snowdrifter

In 1989, parents didn’t seem to care about their kids as much as they do today, so when 4-year-old Billy slipped behind a sofa at a neighbors house while they were watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, no one noticed him. The opening narration for that film is one of the best — if not the best — in the annals of American horror film history, and it stuck with little Billy, forever etched into his psyche…

The Disturbing History:

Thankfully, the young boy wasn’t alone with his macabre fascinations for long, as his own flesh and blood brother too found love in the dark, morose recesses of imagination. With every tick of the disgusting clock, from playing Freddy Krueger as children to writing full-length screenplays as adults, the brothers fell deeper into the depths of the horror storytelling abyss. As their lives trudged along, they found solace in the void, peace in the chaos, and a true calling — perhaps from their own broken spirit guides — to use the power of words to give voice to the wicked.

The Agonizing Present:

As a writer, Bill’s brother, “The Shadow” Mullane has written audio horror narratives for Aural Studios (Vultures Over Low Doves) and Chilling Tales For Dark Nights (Shenandoah — begins at 53 min mark). And beginning this October, he joins forces with his brother on A Brothers’ Macabre, where they write, perform, and produce original, dark, and twisted stories with the help of other creators, friends, and guests.

The goal here is to effectively raise our tales from the sour grounds of our depraved imaginations and give them life for your sick amusement.

Starting with one weekly story as part of The Bill Mullane Show, A Brothers’ Macabre will ultimately shape-shift to include an original, one-two hour story once monthly. Between tales, Bill, his brother, and other guests will review some of the most gruesome, thought-provoking, and often lesser-known films from the genre. It’s all the audio horror you’ll ever need!

Welcome to A Brothers’ Macabre

Following my birth in April, 1985 — only days after I arrived home from the hospital — my then 3-year-old brother picked up a solid wooden block, cocked his arm back like Nolan Ryan, and pitched it directly at my forehead. He struck me right between the eyes and there’s still a dent there today.

After the attempted murder, he called me stupid and said I was too dumb to catch. And therein lay the birth of A Brothers’ Macabre…
